Description: Myrmecia nigriceps is one of 90 species of bulldog ants native to Australia. Myrmecia are quite difficult to found, so care must be taken to avoid stressing the queen, which can lead to the consumption of her brood. Myrmecia have a venom that can be dangerous for people allergic to insect bites, although the sting is not very painful.
